Raison d'etre for 'Rational Education'

As a parent of two primary (K-12) school age kids, I have been constantly horrified with what I encounter that goes in the name of education dominated by public schools, i.e. by force, but worse still to me is that I hear very few words of outrage in private or public from the victims or the media. In discussions and heated debates on school related issues I have brought myself to great grief wondering whether I am not taking the whole thing too far, but then I look at the facts once again, and ever more confirmations come in all the time to tell me I am right in my convictions.

I realized that as a parent whose children have many more years to go through just the K-12 education, I need to speak out and take up battle myself against the insanity in education and the huge injustice being dealt to children including (and especially) my own.

Education needs to be clearly defined and delimited in its scope based on the need the producer claims he is fulfilling in a particular context, as is the case with every other producer that has anything of value to sell. Let us remember that those who say that these objectives are too complex to be clearly defined in the instance of education have dubious ends in mind that cannot withstand plain-speaking or understanding and are hiding behind a smokescreen hoping and for the most part succeeding, that no one will seek explanations. Stating a purpose and delimitation of what is provided is precisely what government schooling has tried to obscure.

Education is such an important need for our children that it absolutely needs to be treated as a legitimate business like any other in which producers can offer their services and consumers can objectively examine through voluntary trade and cast their vote for the producer of their choice in the free marketplace.

Education urgently needs to be freed from statist controls if this country is to succeed and prosper.

This blog is an intellectual battle to free education from the stranglehold of irrationality, altruism and statism or in simple terms: mush and fog. That in a nutshell is the raison d'etre for this blog.
